Alcathon
The Alcathon is a long-standing sober event that has been running for 45 years, offering a fun and supportive way to celebrate the holidays and bring in the New Year. This year's Alcathon will be a special 30-hour event held on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and enjoy an alcohol-free atmosphere.
The event will include fellowship, hourly meetings, engaging games, inspiring speakers, delicious food, and even a dance on New Year's Eve at 9:30 PM. The theme for this year is "Partners in Crime."
Many groups host meetings during the Alcathon. If your group is interested, please fill out the Meeting Request form to sign up for a time slot.
In true potluck fashion, we encourage attendees to bring their favorite dish to share. Show off your cooking skills and help us make this event even more memorable!
There are numerous ways to get involved. Whether you’d like to volunteer at the food or drink tables, help with coffee, greet attendees, or assist with setup and cleanup, your help is welcome! If you're looking for a way to stay active over the holiday or want to give back to the community, this is a great opportunity to be of service.
While the event is free to attend, we do collect 7th Tradition donations to help cover operating costs and keep this event running year after year. All proceeds should be made out to the Omaha Central Office.
This is a joint AA and Al-Anon Family Groups event, with speakers from both communities. Everyone is welcome! If you're looking for a safe and supportive environment to stay sober and celebrate the New Year, we’d love to see you there.
