Helping Professionals Support Recovery: Omaha CPC/PI

Connecting professionals with resources and building understanding about Alcoholics Anonymous in the Omaha area.

Purpose
Our CPC committee advises healthcare providers, educators, clergy, legal professionals, social workers, and others on how to assist individuals struggling with alcoholism. We provide essential information about who we are, what we do, and our commitment to anonymity and singleness of purpose. The PI committee aims to disseminate accurate information to the public and media, including producing approved public service announcements.

Committee Objectives / Activities

  • Professional Outreach: Communicate directly with professionals who encounter those with drinking issues, offering AA literature and information.
  • Educational Workshops: Attend AA seminars and hold workshops for members to learn about CPC/PI service work.
  • Literature Distribution: Partner with local hospitals and clinics to stock AA literature in waiting areas.
  • Public Presentations: Offer presentations at local professional organizations and community events.
  • Open Meetings: Invite professionals and students to our meetings and direct them to our AA website for schedules and information.
  • Exhibits and Displays: Create displays for use at professional conferences to spread awareness about AA.

The CPC Committee focuses on building relationships with professionals such as healthcare providers, therapists, counselors, educators, clergy, and members of the legal system.
